How Robopear collects and verifies data

Reviewed Robopear Editorial · Robopear Data

Every price, status, specification, round and shipment figure on Robopear carries a source link and the date it was checked. A value without both is not shown. This page sets out the rule for each field; the evidence for each status is defined in the verification policy.

122 models · 86 full cards · 84 companies · 81 rounds and listings · data checked 20 Oct 2026

What counts as a humanoid

A humanoid has a torso, a head and two arms, on two legs, on a wheeled base, or as an upper body on a stand. Exoskeletons, quadrupeds, industrial arms and mobile carts are not counted. A model gets a full card when eight fields are sourced: name, maker, country, category, a status with evidence, a dated price block, three vendor specifications and the official page. Models short of that stay in the table without a card.

Prices

A price is recorded as amount, currency, basis, configuration, source and date. The basis is one of: list price, pre-order, rental per month, enterprise quote, or no published price. Sources in order: vendor store product feeds, read as dated snapshots; vendor pages and price lists; official distributors and marketplace stores. Placeholders shown for “contact us” items are recorded as enterprise quote. “No published price (checked date)” is a checked fact. Press estimates are never shown as a price.

Currency

Prices are shown in US dollars first, with the source currency next to them. Conversion uses the ECB euro reference rate of the date, crossed through the euro; this build uses rates of 19 Oct 2026. The source amount is always kept.

Shipment status

  1. Claimed
  2. Demonstrated
  3. Piloting
  4. Shipped

A status moves up only with evidence for the next level, and each step keeps its source. Pre-orders never count as shipped. Definitions and accepted evidence are in the verification policy.

Control mode

Whether a robot acted on its own or under remote control is recorded only when a named source states it, with the quote and link. Without such a statement the mode is not disclosed. How to read the evidence: autonomous or teleoperated.

Specifications

Each specification is a value, a unit, a configuration, a source and a date. Configurations are never merged or averaged: a base and an EDU version keep separate values. Vendor figures are published figures, not measurements. Converted units are marked as converted.

Shipment figures

Each unit count names who counted it: the company, an analyst firm, or an audited report. Counts from different trackers are shown side by side and never summed or averaged.

Funding and listings

Each round is one record per deal and source, labelled filed (an SEC or stock exchange filing), company statement, or press report: 51, 16 and 14 of the 81 published records. A press report keeps its label until a filing appears. SEC Form D reports securities sold, which can differ from the announced size. Deals in talks and contradicted figures are not published.

A company gets a card with a sourced ownership type and a capital signal (a round, a public award or a listing), or when it makes a carded model. Groups whose robot business is one model line appear through that model's card.

Freshness

Every checked date is compared with the date of the build. A date more than 30 days old reads “last checked”; more than 90 days old reads “not verified”.

What is never used

  • Subscription funding databases: Crunchbase, Tracxn, PitchBook, CB Insights.
  • Wikipedia text (its licence is CC BY-SA); Wikidata is used for identifiers only.
  • YouTube view statistics and data scraped from social networks.
  • Aggregator sites as a source of a value. They can point to a primary source; the field then cites that source.

Cost calculator

The formulas, default values and their sources are printed on the cost calculator page.
