Figure AI announced on 30 Sep 2026 that it has retired its Figure 02 (F.02) robots: “As our F.03 fleet grows, maintaining the F.02 fleet no longer makes sense.” According to the post, “Just a few remain in storage at HQ.”
The retired robots were melted at a foundry in Imatra, Finland, in a 75-ton electric arc furnace. Figure says the metal is being machined into a limited series of artifacts commemorating F.02, and that disassembling each robot would have taken its technical staff long enough to delay the launch of F.04.
Figure gives no unit count for either fleet. The post is the company’s own statement; the size of the Figure 03 fleet remains undisclosed. On Robopear, the Figure 02 card keeps its recorded history and sources, and the Figure 03 card does not change status with this item.
